| Phase 1 - Planning and Design |
Phase 1 of Allied Digital’s implementation process is in many ways the most critical portion of the entire implementation. It represents the longest and most involved stage of the process and lays the foundation for all that is to come. Regardless of how straightforward or complex the anticipated requirements of your LAN or WAN may be, the quality of the preparatory work and start-up has a direct bearing on the effectiveness and ease with which your implementation will be managed. The greater the effort committed to this phase of the project, the fewer the surprises and the less problematic their resolution will be.
During Phase 1, you select your project team, create your lines of accountability, define your organizations specific needs, and design your system solution. When this phase is complete, you will have a Site Inspection Report (SIR), a System Solution Report (SSR), a Site Upgrade Requirements Report (SURR) and authorization to implement your network solution. |

| Phase 2 - Planning and Design |
The major objective of Phase 2 of Allied Digital’s implementation process is ensuring quality control and accountability in the physical preparation of the LAN site as well as WAN site and installation equipment - all of which relate directly to the approved SURR and SSR reports generated during Phase 1. These are also the tasks most often sub-contracted out to other parties.
When installation preparation is complete, your installation team and/or outside contractors will have made any required upgrades to the LAN or WAN site, all equipment will have been ordered, shipped, prototyped, pre-configured and tested and your assigned LAN administrator will have received the appropriate training. You will also have all the supporting documentation to ensure that both the site and equipment are ready for the actual installation to begin. |

| Phase 3 - Installation |
Phase 3 walks you through the installation step-by-step, always with a view towards project organization and accountability. If you have methodically worked through both the planning and design phase and installation preparation phase, then you should find the installation and documentation of your LAN a relatively simple exercise. This phase can be as straightforward as placing servers in the appropriate locations, setting up the necessary physical connections and installing software in the existing site workstations. With all these tasks complete, all that remains is for the installation team to perform initial testing, complete the correct forms, and then check that documentation is in order at the LAN site.
In practice, installations rarely work exactly as planned, However, Allied Digital's implementation process, in concert with well-trained personnel, should provide you with an accurate, up-to-date audit trail and all the documentation needed for dealing efficiently with unexpected difficulties. |

| Phase 4 - Post Installation (Customer ATP/UAT) |
Phase 4 is the final stage of the Allied Digital's implementation process. This is when you ensure that the LAN & WAN implementation does, in fact, pull together. As post-installation implies, your new system will have been in full operation for some time and actual operational results will have started to surface. The tasks associated with the post-Installation phase are designed primarily to verify that your network is functioning as expected. Meetings are held with network administrations and key end-users, revisiting all written documentation, strategic plans, problem resolution procedures and preventative maintenance issues. This is to ensure that all documentation is understood, being used and kept current.
Formal Acceptance is the final deliverable in Allied Digital's implementation process. The time period that should elapse before this takes place will vary with the complexity of the network and the skill sets of the users. Remember though, formal acceptance does not mean that your work has ended. All networks, large and small, continue to require ongoing attention, maintenance, enhancements, upgrades and support. By following this process, all your necessary documentation will be maintained in a systematic manner thus simplifying your work and making your ongoing management easier. |

Success during the network implementations depends on an effective and well-documented implementation methodology that can be readily understood and used by all concerned. The Allied Digital’s project implementation process is such a methodology. Right from the start, it recognizes your need to integrate all corporate policies and standards into your solution. It is also designed so that, in your planning, you are able to track and document all task and resource assignments in a consistent and organized manner. The end result is sound project management and a complete set of documentation to aid in the tracking and maintenance of all your LAN & WAN related information, both during the implementation and afterwards.
